FairForward is located in Culemborg, the Netherlands, the heart of the international Fair Trade movement. FairForward has a long history and is the successor of the non-food division of Fair Trade Original, one of the largest Fair Trade importers in Europe.

The roots of FairForward go back to 1959 when in Holland SOS (Committee for Support to less developed areas) was founded, that imported the first fair trade craft, a wooden sculpture to help people in Haïti. As the founding father of the European fair trade movement and investing in the movement since then, the organization today still focuses on being a market leader, importing modern sustainable gifts and living products. With certified, transparent and entrepreneurial Fair Trade at the heart of its objectives.

Since its merger January 2018 FairForward includes the activities of importers and sincere WFTO-members Eco Collection – sustainable fair trade home accessories-, tuyu – custom-made accessories such as corporate gifts and private label – and Tilingo Nepra, handcrafted gifts mainly from Kenia and Nepal. FairForward as a whole has become a certified member of the World Fair Trade Organization WFTO in 2018.

FairForward has some iconic products in its range. Among which the palm wood baskets, designed by the international known Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek and its ceramic table ware set from Thailand also by him. Other are the Diamond vases and CHA storage jars and our designed candles. FairForward thrives for innovative designs of fair trade products for the alternative and the main stream market, stimulating the producer in product development. Hoping to inspire other importers to work on product development and offer their own unique products. And to seduce the modern consumer to look for a fair trade alternative in their purchase.
